Ferrariku oh Ferrariku

Beberapa hari yang lalu Ferrariku rusak. Aku jadi nggak bisa online deh selama berhari-hari. Sungguh hidup yang sepi tanpa laptop dan tanpa internet. Serasa makanan tanpa garam.

Ferrari ini aku beli sekitar bulan Oktober tahun 2007. Saat itu aku lagi di Makassar. Iseng-iseng aku tanya sama my brother, apakah dia punya teman yang ingin jual laptopnya. Eh, ternyata ada. Ada yang mau jual laptop Compaq. Setelah ditawar-tawar, akhirnya terjadi deal senilai 2,5 juta rupiah untuk Compaq Pentium M.

Beberapa hari kemudian, Ullah, si pemilik laptop datang membawa Compaqnya. Lumayan juga, pikirku. Gak ada kerusakan apa-apa. Katanya sih umur laptopnya baru 2 tahun. Dulu harganya 6 jutaan. Aku lihat prosesornya pentium M, memori 256 mb, Hardisk 40 gb., tanpa Wifi, dan baterai rusak. Ya, walaupun nggak canggih-canggih amat, tapi aku antusias sekali karena ini adalah laptop pertama yang akan aku punya dengan uang sendiri.

Satu hari berselang, laptop itu sudah menjadi milikku setelah membayar 1,5 juta rupiah. Perjanjiannya 2 bulan berselang aku harus lunasin. Senang banget punya laptop sendiri. Mimpi lama jadi kenyataan.


Sekarang, laptop ini hampir setahun aku miliki. Aku kasih dia nama Ferrari karena ada stiker Ferrari di covernya. Ferrari ini sungguh membawa manfaat besar bagiku. Apa yang aku dapat dari Ferrari ini sudah jauh lebih besar dari nilai yang aku keluarkan buat membelinya.

Minggu lalu, Ferrariku mati. Bermula dari saat aku uninstall program-program yang nggak terlalu sering aku pakai. Setelah aku restart, kok laptopnya jadi nggak bisa masuk ke windows. Aku lumayan stress juga. Beberapa kali aku coba install windows sendiri, gak bisa-bisa.

Akhirnya aku bawa ke unikom computer, salah satu toko komputer yang ada di sangatta. Awalnya sih katanya Cuma windowsnya aja yang rusak. Ya, syukurlah, pikirku. Kan gak perlu ganti-ganti apapun. Aku dikenakan biaya seratus ribu buat install ulang.

Besoknya barangnya sudah jadi. Pihak unikom mengatakan bahwa hardisknya bagus saja, tapi memorinya agak rusak. Jadi sarannya, jangan buka program terlalu banyak.

Sampai dirumah aku tes Ferrari. Pertama nyala bagus. Beberapa saat kemudian, tiba-tiba Ferrari jadi hang. Dan timbul layar biru. Wah wah wah,,, kok bisa gini. Aku restart lagi, eh malah gak bisa masuk windows. Aku memutuskan akan mencari memori baru dengan spesifikasi yang lebih tinggi. Setelah cari sana-sini, bahkan hampir pesan dari internet, aku mendapatkan memori DDR 512 MB yang cukup murah di Anugerah Komputer. Harganya 350 ribu rupiah.

Aku lega sesaat setelah dilakukan pergantian memori ternyata Ferrari jadi bagus lagi. Kecepatannya lebih tinggi setelah diganti dengan memori 2 kali lipat.

Sampai dirumah, aku nyalakan lagi. Aku pakai browsing dengan wireless PCMCIA yang aku beli di toko yang sama. Harganya 330 ribu. Awalnya sih bagus, kencang. Tapi setelah beberapa lama, dia layar biru lagi. Pas direstart, gak mau masuk-masuk. Aku menghela napas panjang. Gimana nih? Aku putusin, aku akan ke Anugerah lagi buat komplain kalau lagi ada waktu.

Malamnya aku tes-tes lagi. Ferrariku masuk lagi ke sistem dimana aku diminta memilih apakah harus masuk ke safe mode, ke windows normal atau ke windows yang terakhir masih bisa dipakai.

Iseng aku coba ke pilihan terakhir. Yes. Ternyata bisa masuk. Alhamdulillah. Sampai sekarang aku pakaipun, Ferrari ini sudah jadi bagus. Aku tidak jadi ke Anugerah. Ya, mudah-mudahan tidak akan ke sana lagi buat selamanya

Ferrariku oh Ferrariku... jangan rusak lagi dong. I love you!

Applicate the new way to learn english

I have learned english for 15 years since junior high school. I remember my first grammar is about “it”. “that”, and “this”. I am grateful because my english is not bad. Well, although I can’t say it as remarkable.

I started my english learning with reading, then I tried to speak with it. I was quite shy at first. But now I become more confident to use it. Presumably, language is just about the habit. If we make it as a habit, we will have this skill.

Just recently, I forced myself to write english article. I thought it is very important to have this writing ability. I know there are still many mistakes in my grammar. But I don’t really care about that because it is just a learning process. Someday, if I need the perfect english writing, I hope I will be capable to make it.

Since 2 month ago I started my english writing learning. I made the method by myself. It was somewhat tired. First I seek an interested article to imitate. Then I translated it to Indonesian language. After that, I translated it back again to english. I tried to make it same with the original article. I thought it was sufficient to help me with this. I did it in about 6 articles. Then I tried to write my own english article directly.

Thanks god, there is a blog where I can publish my english article to other people without being deterred by anything. It’s very usefull to practice your english through this medium.
Actually, at the first time I was sick with my way in writing english. As I said, there were so many mistakes in grammar. And I just can use common words. My words were just the simple ones. Although it might be easy to be understood but I was not satisfy with that. I decided to take a new method.

You see the bold word above. Don’t you? It is my new method. I tried to applicate some new english words everytime I made an article. I collected the new words from the english article I read before. When I found an important word, I noted it then I tried to use it in my new posting. Practically speaking, It is very nice. So, if you want to be better in english, it is mandatory for you to applicate it in your daily life, whether in conversation or in writing.

Doctor can also get sick

It has been 4 days I got cold. It is very unpleasant. I often cough and sneeze. There is phlegm in my throat that hard to be oozed. There is pain in my throat everytime I cough. The phlegm doesn’t wanes but it tends to waxe. Thanks god, there is no fever that always come concomitantly with all this symptoms.

I am a doctor. Why I can get this disease. It’s what people always say about a sick doctor. Doctor’s job is making people health. They shoudnt get sick. I just can grumble in my heart to hear this. Nobody’s perfect. I am just a common human. I can’t do a very perfect action to avoid getting disease. There are so many disease around us. Especially if you are a doctor. All the sick people come to you to get the health back. In that condition, sometimes, a doctor as common person makes a fault by not doing a good protection from the patient. And then, no matter how well you make a protection, you are still possible to make a mistake. It’s what people don’t understand.

Frankly speaking, I am so disturbed with this disease. My cough always come abruptly when I talk with my patient. Even though I fight to endure it, It still continues. I am quite shy to my patient especially if I treat a cough patient too. Will they think like this? How come we consult to a sick person? He cant even cures himself, how about us? Oh, god. I hope they don’t think like that.

There is a relief to a sick doctor especially if he works in health centre. You can guess it. Yeagh, you are right. The cost is free. I don’t need to pay for the medication and laboratory if I need it. For other people it can reach until IDR 300.00. But for us. It is just free. But it wont be a reason for me to like to get sick. J

Actually, I should take a rest for a few days until I recover. But the situation here in my clinic won’t let me do that. There is a lack of doctor here. So if I take a rest there will be a shake in this clinic. Perhaps if my disease is getting worse and make me incapable to wake up, I will be permissible to get rest. It’s just a common cold. If I insist to ask for a rest, the management and the other doctor here will coalesce to dispute me!

Btw, sometimes I was grateful to have a disease. Why? I can really feel what my patient feel about the disease. Yeah, It can occur my symphaty to the patient. And then I can prove and fix my medication method to the patient to myself. When I got varicella a few month ago, I took a remedy as I always gave to my patients. It really works. My varicella get better. But I become know that taking varicella medication is very unpleasant. Varicella medication has to be taken 5 times a day for 7 days. You know, it is very uncomfortable to eat drug until five times. I always fail to take discipline to eat the drug until five times because of forgetfulness.

When I got fever last year, I drink what I always gave to my patients too. I become know how unpleasant the fever was. We feel pain in all our muscle. The tongue felt bitter. We lost our appetite. It is very uncomfortable. After I drink the medicine, I prove that my medication is right. So it make me more confidence with my treatment.

Back to my cold now, It’s getting better after I take medicine more discipline. Yeah, I don’t want to be mad to my patients anymore because their undiscipline in taking their medicine that make them not recover. I have felt what the reason make them so. J

The condition here in the clinic where I live doest give me a support to recover soon. I cant bathe with lukeworm water like it should be. The tap water is quite dirty. But there is no other choice to take. I hope I can recover immediately.
